FLOWERS, COLORS, and FAIRY TALES IN MY EYES!
The first exhibition, marking the opening of my Art Space, will focus on flowers, colors, and fairy tales. You will have the opportunity to view my oil paintings, created at various times.
Why these particular themes? Many know me as an professional artist - icon painter, but I am also very close to oil painting and graphic. Recently, I discovered the magic of sculpture and participating in exhibitions with them in Latvia. Flowers are a living conversation with nature that surrounds me. I paint flowers that grow in my garden, flowers that bloom in my dreams. Can nature be surpassed by the touch of a brush? Of course, not! The greatest artist is God, Who created such a beauty around us. As an artist, I can only express my admiration through the touch of color on a white canvas. Often I paint pure colors on large canvases because I am convinced that a pure tone is like music - it flows by itself and fills the air with visions of fantasy. In my color works, each one carries a thought about big, mysterious things that our mind cannot unravel. But, for me, as a seeker of life, it will always be interesting to discover new horizons, measuring long, sometimes reflective journeys of the mind. Fairy tales? You know, sometimes it feels like little child is still to alive within me, so, so much! I even see little Anna beside me, sitting in the garden, watching the stars in the dark of night with a GREAT conviction that the Little Prince, at this very moment, is sitting on the porch, also watching us!
With these three themes, so close to me, I will open my Art Space.
After some time, I will change the exhibition. I will offer both Graphics, Miniatures, Egg tempera paintings, Sculptures, and will even gather the courage to host some poetry evening! I am paying special attention to the Icon Exhibition. Why special? Painting icons for me means conversing with God. It is not always the bright and positive conversation. But, we will talk about that when I invite you to the Icon Exhibition.
