2 Art at Cern Science Summit!
- February 5, 2025. Geneva, Switzerland.
- My journey began in Riga, via Paris to Geneva!
- I am so honored and pleased to receive a personal invitation as an artist from Latvia to the Summit.
CERN - is one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific Research, also place, where science meets art. On August 2, 2021, Latvia became of full associate member of CERN, and in 2027 it plans become a full member.
The CERN Art and Science Summit is curated annually by the ART at CERN team and highlights the achievement of CERN's forward-thinking approach to arts and creativity. The event gathered together a selected group of quests from literature, philosophy, science and experimental music, including artists who participated in Arts at CERN's programmes. As a renowned platform for the intersection of arts and sciences, Art at CERN fosters engagement and and discussion between artists and scientists.
Since childhood, I have always been interested in the cosmos theme, instilled in me and my brother by our father. He encouraged us to look at the sky more often! Even now, me and my sons, we take our telescope out to the garden, to the darkest place, and on starry nights, we gaze at the UNIVERSE!
- In 2018, I had a Solo Exhibition, called "SINGULARITY", look:
HERE!
I explored the theme of the UNIVERSE. In my artworks, whether it be paintings, icons, graphic, poetry, installations or sculptures, I consciously and unconsciously explore the UNIVERSE, searching for the Divine particle. I am very interested in the moment that occurred before the BIG BANG, how the Universe was created, and where its hypothetical boundary lies. The Divine particle (Higgs boson) is also being experimentally sought by scientists. And I am curious to see how far these searches will go. As a Christian, I understand that we are not meant to comprehend it. As soon as God becomes explainable, God will cease to be. Faith and God do not conform to logical explanations. But, since I am by nature a researcher and am never satisfied with ready-made answers, collaboration with science fascinates me so much!
The invitation to the Summit and the opportunity to meet the like-minded artists feels like a wonderful gift and a confirmation that my art is appreciated, and the path I am walking, often in very great solitude, is in the right direction!
- I made new contacts, met interesting people. I believe this event became a strong step of inspiration for my future work, exploring how the Universe works and where my place is in it!
