FIRST TIME IN LATVIA! EXHIBITION OF LUMINOUS PAINTINGS IN ĶEMERI NATIONAL PARK, LATVIA. 2024
- WHEN? The exhibition can be viewed from August 24 - October 6, 2024. In the dark, paintings will be illuminated and you can best see the luminescent effect!
ABOUT THE IDEA: on
August 11, 2024, a Plein Air of luminescent paintings took place at
Meža māja, where 12 artists participated. And, I am glad that I was
approved for Plein Air participation. Artists were offered to paint the
characteristic plants and animals of the Ķemeri National Park. We
painted on used information boards in this way - giving them a new
creative life! Everyone could choose what to paint. Before the Plein
Air, we were invited to send our sketches of our ideas. I choose to
paint Marsh-marigold flowers, that bloom in the spring time, because the
yellow color is very dear to me and these small flowers decorate our
National Park especially beautifully in the spring! In the process of
painting, Blue-tailed damselfly landed on my hand! With the trowel I
used to paint flowers at the time, I quickly sketched the little
damselfly, while he posed for me. So, you can see such a quick portrait
of a damselfly in my painting. Also, I had not planned to paint a bird,
but in the process, I remembered that I have a Great Tit living in my
garden already for several years and delights our with its songs all
year round! Well, you can see a Great Tit also in my painting! I paint
with acrylic, oil and luminescent colors, also I used the Graphic print
technique with a small Graphic hand-roller and by mixing these colors
and techniques together and each one separately, I give the painting
the mood of our Ķemeri National Park, with fallen trees, various leaves,
water, a sense of distance, that there, behind the trees, there is
something mysterious. It was a beautiful experience for me!
FIRST EXHIBITION:
August 24, from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. the opening the exhibition took
place! In the dark, under UV light, a painting showed many small
fragments that daylight hides. Surprises are only visible in the dark!
The music, especially in low bass, that accompanied the opening of the
exhibition, only added to the sense of mystery!
THE EXHIBITION COULD BE VIEWED: until October 6. All 12 artists' paintings were illuminated in the dark evenings!
